
Position: ADT Training Instructor
We are seeking a caring and motivated Life Skills Development Level 3 (LSD3) Instructor to join our Adult Day Training (ADT) program. This role is vital to helping individuals with developmental disabilities achieve independence, community inclusion, and personal fulfillment through structured training and support. Services are provided in accordance with Florida’s iBudget Waiver Handbook and APD standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver person-centered, goal-driven instruction to promote independence and skill development
Facilitate community integration, self-advocacy, and daily living activities
Support individuals in achieving meaningful outcomes in social and personal growth.
Assist with personal care and behavior supports as needed
Maintain daily documentation, including attendance, progress toward goals, and incident reports
Support participants during on-site and community-based training sessions
Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized support planning
Comply with all safety procedures and APD service delivery guidelines
Minimum Training Requirements
Zero Tolerance Training
Direct Care Core Competency Training (within 90 days of hire)
CPR and First Aid
HIPAA Privacy and Security Training
Person-Centered Planning Training
Emergency Procedures and Crisis Management
Medication Administration Awareness (if assisting with meds)
Documentation and Data Collection Procedures
Incident Reporting and Protective Services Training
Training is provided or arranged by the agency for all qualified hires.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (Required)
Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation (Required)
Ability to pass a Level II background screening
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
Willingness to assist with personal care as needed (training provided)
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in an APD-funded ADT or Life Skills Development program
Completion of some or all required trainings listed above
Experience working with individuals who have complex needs
