Overview

Always Promoting Independence, LLC provides Companion services to adults age 21 and older through Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) iBudget Waiver. Services include nonmedical care, supervision, and socialization that support the individual’s goals identified in their support plan.

Community, Connection & Independence

Companion services help individuals participate in meaningful community activities, develop social connections, and increase their ability to access community resources with greater independence. Activities reflect each individual’s interests, preferences, and support needs and address needs that natural or other unpaid supports cannot meet.

How Services Are Provided

Services may be provided individually or in groups of up to three recipients, within allowable home and community settings. The schedule and level of support follow the individual’s support plan, approved cost plan, and service authorization.

Based on APD’s service definition and the iBudget Waiver Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook (PDF). Companion services (LSD-1) begin on printed page 2-13.
